Friday - No. 101 Wedding Dinner

Friday reached office quite early, but went to the nearby shop to buy breakfast. After nOe-ing the news on Thursday, feel even more disgusted when i see the new "AM" & the manager. "Lang bei wei jian", "she shu yi wo" keep jumping into my train of tots, when i see the 2 of them together.

Lunch time, went to Purvis Street with Jones for lunch. We decided to go to "Miss Clarity" cafe for our lunch. I ordered softshell crab linguine, lobster bisque, escargots for myself. Jones ordered baked rice.

I have read about this cafe quite some time ago in the newspapers. It was highly recommended as the price is quite reasonable & the serving is large. Most imptly, the food taste reali reali nice!

After lunch went back to office. Left office @ 530pm, as i haf a wedding dinner to attend, wif de BF. It's his ex colleague (Ah Goh)'s wedding & it was held @ Chinatown, Furama Hotel. I reached home @ 620pm & met BF @ 645pm. Very rush... Took a cab down there.

The food is ok & we drank a lot of red wine, as our table are all drinkers! Very happy day as i get to drink alot~ Was supposed to go St James to meet Grace & her frens but was too drunk to do so... Reached home @ 12am & BF left, as he got duty on Sat..

Someone was supposed to meet me, but i fell asleep while waiting for him. When i woke up the next day, realised tat he actually came to my hse & gave me 7 missed calls... Too bad i was oredi in dreamland by then... Guess we haf no fate ba... tis is the 2nd time tat he gave over to my place but i fell asleep...

Last weekend - Grace Wedding

Did a short post about my D & D last weekend (refer to earlier post: Busy Weekend - Friday D & D).. Photos will be updated shortly.~

Attended Grace's wedding on 22 Nov 08 (Last Saturday).. Was being asked to be her jiemei, together wif Sue. As her morning ceremony was juz next day after my D & D, I was reali worried that i could not wake up in time~

ReaCHed home after my D & D on friday @ 1am & onli managed to sleep @ 3am~ The best part is tat i forgot to set my alarm clock~ But somehow, whenever i got impt events the next day & need to wake up early, I'll be restless the whole nite during my sleep & would keep waking up every hour or so... hahaha... too stressed to sleep i guess..

In any case, Sue gave me a morning call @ 6am & we were supposed to meet @ 630am @ Sembawang... End up, Ms Lee was running late, so I went to Mac @ Sun Plaza for my breakfast + waiting for her..

She took a cab from her place & came to pick me up @ 645am.. Grace stays @ Tampines & we managed to reach her place @ 715am.. Juz late for 15minutes ba.. Faster changed & make-up & the bro + groom were here @ 745am~ Proceeded with the sabo session & managed to get $288 ang pow for all the jie mei~

After tat took many photos, followed them to groom's place for tea ceremony + buffet lunch, den back to Grace's place for tea ceremony + buffet lunch (again).. Followed by more photos... Due to my lack of sleep, was feeling reali drowsy througout... -_-"

Left Grace's place @ ard 1pm (one of the brother sent me & Sue to Toa Payoh MRT) & Sue left for home first.. Me went to buy the Hot Shot 3 VCD & did some bank transfer thingy.. Finally took MRT home to rest, as nite time still haf to go to her wedding dinner..
Reached home & saw my xiaoyi & ah zhu, who came to my hse visiting.. Entertained them for an hour + showed them my D & D photos (haf a good laugh @ some photos ^_^) den they left * de BF came & disturbed my planned sleep -_-" End up did not manage to catch any sleep & went to Grace wedding dinner liao...

Waited for Sue @ Sun plaza, took a cab down to the location (Pines Club @ Stevens Road), jam all the way... Managed to reach onli @ 8pm... The food was quite nice but the service by the servers are quite lousy.. Drink & eat & take photos... Went home @ 12am... Immediately fell asleep after reaching home.. -_-" I was tat tired...

Anyway, juz wanna wish Grace & Terrance: Everlasting love & Happiness forever~~~

Backdated Post: 7 Nov 08 (Wedding dinner)

Was late for work today as I couldnt wake up... Too much late nites have finally taken its toil on me~~ =( Reached office @ 11am.. Took 2 hours time off..
Spent the whole day doing payroll.. Went to lunch onli @ 140pm & went back to office @ 3pm..

Left office @ 540pm, as today is Meiqi's wedding & I did not bring my gown to change.. Reached hOme @ 630pm. Was supposed to meet BF @ 645pm but he was late as well.. Spent half an hour putting on make-up & BF reached @ 715pm, juz as I am done wif my make-up..

As we are riding bike there, I brought my gown to change @ the hotel.. Meiqi's wedding is held @ Furama Riverfront hotel. Heard that many people gOt lost.. ^_^
We managed to reach there only @ 745pm but ok la.. We are not the latest..

Another coincidence about marriage:
MeiQi is actually my Sec Sch CCA seniOr (St Johns). Janice, my bestest fren was from St John as well & it was thru St John that we gOt to nOe each other.. anyway...my point is.. Meiqi was OUR St John senior.. & we used to "hate" mOst of our seniors back in those days ^_^
Anyway.. The guy Meiqi is gOing to marry is actually..TADAH!! Janice cousin~~ So qiaO rite... Cos the last wedding (of my St John Senior) i attended was LiJuan's one.. And so happen tat her husband-to-be was from my ex company.. kekeke.. the world is reali small..

Anyway, as Janice is "family by marriage", she was sitting @ a different table loh.. Heard from Meiqi that she invited a few St John ppl but mOst of them did not turn up.. End up onli me, Peifen & Mrs Lim came.. Den someone showed Peifen to wrong table & she was sitting at the table next to mine & there was noone she knew from the table lo.. When we realised is oredi too late & troublesome for her to request to change table.. So for the whole nite, she very poor thing, sit alone there & we communicated using SMS.. ^_^

Luckily BF acc me to this, if not i will be so lost as well.. Mrs Lim was sitting next to me & it's quite tiring to make small talk wif her.. Cos i dun reali nOe her well since last time.. Anyway, she told me tat Peili & YunYun (both oso St John seniors) got hitched last month as well...

The table we are sitting @ is rite @ the back of the ballroom. Saw some familiar faces, that I nOe are from AISS but mOst of them i dunno the names.. Only nOe Simon but he like dun recognise me~ ^_^

The dinner is quite ok loh but the Cold Dish is not nice.. All fried items.. I think recently mOst of the weddings I have been to, the Cold Dish nOt nice as well.. Maybe is the trend ba.. Hahaha... And the waiters & waitresses are quite slow in their action..

Took some photos wif BF & Janice & Peifen in between the dinner loh.. Oh ya, the MC who was hOsting the wedding rite, seem to be some professional hOst leh~ Kekeke.. There is only 1 MC for the nite & he was like alternating between speaking English & Chinese & threw in some Hokkien phases as well loh~ Luiguistic sia~

But some of the time, we find him resembling thOse hOsts @ thOse "7th month dinner", thOse who are like doing thOse "Pai Mai" thingy loh.. ^_^

Left the dinner @ 11plus & reached hOme @ 12plus.. Was very tired when we reached home & I juz dropped dead the mOment we reached home.. ^_^

Backdated Post: 30 Oct 08 (Eileen's big day)

30 Oct 08 is BF's sister (Eileen)'s big day~~ Woke up @ 5am to prepare to go to his hse. Left my place @ 6am & reached his house @ 620am. Bought breakfast to eat. When we reached, his whole family are all up~~

Prepared to change & do my make-up. The grOom finally arrived @ 8am & they proceeded with the "sabo" thingy. I was staying in the room wif Eileen & she was sayin tat she is feeling very nervous & all... hahaha.. so did some mindless chit chat wif her lo..

Then the groom finally finished all the "tortures" & gOt to the bride~ After tat is phototaking & all those customary rites.. After that, they went to the groom house to continue wif the rituals & we stayed behind. Buffet came & started eating. BF's mum ask me to dabao some stuff to bring home..

After that bride & groom came back & more photo taking. Den off they went to their new house, which is like 1 street away onli.. Left BF hse ard 2pm, to go home & take my 2nd outfit, for the wedding dinner.

Went back his hse abt 4pm to dress & make-up. Left his place @ 530pm, to go to the hotel. Their dinner is held @ Park Hotel (the hotel @ Orchard Swensons there..) Took a cab there & reached the hotel room abt 6pm..

Guests started arriving abt 7pm..Helped to smile & welcome guests. Kept getting asked the same qn by all BF relatives: When is ur turn next~ -_-"

Dinner onli commenced @ 830pm.. Was very excited as it's the 1st time i am sitting @ the "red table". Perfect view of the whole ceremony thingy~~ The food is quite ok..But dun like the "Cold-Dish". =P

The whole video & powerpoint thingy is very very well done.. & most of the times, I was moved to tears.. (i.e. their love story, how the groom proposed etc) I was in some of the screenshots =P, which was played during dinner & saw how the "jie mei" sabo the groom loh~~ Interesting!

1. a) Groom given 2 briefs & told to write down 10 reasons why he loved Eileen.
b) 2 "shiong dee" asked to wear these briefs outside their pants. Took photos
2) a) 4 items given: suan (sour) - lemon, tian (sweet)- packets of the sweetener
used for coffee, ku (bitter)- bittergourd, la (spicy) - small chilli
b) Supposed to eat & bite these 4 items & then use the bitten bits to spell out
the word L.O.V.E. Creative!
3) a) Sing a song to serenade the bride. Requested song was "Angel"
b) Groom forgot the lyrics & sang "Right Here waiting" instead.
4) a) Few keys were kept in a bucket of ice. Find correct key to unlock door
b) After 2 attempts, he found the rite key!!~~

The MC for the nite is an Indian guy (colleague of groom) & a chinese lady (colleague of bride). 1st time i see an Indian MC. Did a good job as he was speaking fluently. Only grouse is tat he talk very loud wor~~ Hahahaa...

Think BF was very inspired by the wedding.. Was asking me during the dinner, where I want to hold my wedding.. When i told him I wan M Hotel, he say to go over 1 weekend to check out the place... Then i told him... "YOU HAVEN PROPOSE YET & I MIGHT NOT SAY YES LOH~~" (^_^)

Dinner ended abt 11pm & went out to thank guests for coming. The groom was very drunk! After tat sent them back to the room & the groom's brother sent us back to BF hse. Den BF ride bike send me home... Reached home oredi 1 plus.. Very tired.. Msg Boss to take the next day half day off..

Home Alone~

I'm home oredi~~~ Feeling tired but restless so decided to online housekeep some of my stuff~~ Been reali busy after changin a new job + new bf =) So much so tat I've neglected some of my personal stuff..

Used to keep an excel file on all my bills, to keep track of my daily + monthly expenses and all..Recently too busy to update these stuff... Muz buck up on this~~

Feelin a bit sian... Cos tmr is Monday & tat onli means one thing--> WORK! got many reports need to rush out and the deadline is on Tuesday...Spent my weekend working on them.. Hopefully I dun need to work too late tmr.....

Tuesday will be my 3rd driving lesson and Wednesday will be our 1 year anniversary...Wondering if there will be any special programmes lined up? And dunno wat he promised me on my Bday will materialize anOt...Well, we shall see on Tuesday~ Wait for my update loh~~ ^_^

The stupid M1 wireless is giving me problem again..Keep having connection problem to MSN~~~ Sian...

Wedding lunch @ ritz carlton

Sat noon went to attend a wedding lunch wif dear fren. De wedding is actually her ex ex colleague, i dun even nOe.

Haha.. I very sweet to dear fren rite.. Kekeke.. Met dear fren @ yishun in de noon, finally get to sit in her new car. Honda fit. Yellow color.. Hmmm.. Supposedly a premium color wor..

Haha.. De ritz carlton.. 2nd time i been there tis yr.
Very nice ambience wif superb customer service.
One service crew brought us all de way to de ladies n opened de door for us lo.. Can u imagine? Five star service wor.. Haha..

De food is juz normal though..total 6 dishes served. And all the food are served nicely by the waiters & waitresses~~

The atmosphere there is one of romance! I think there is a total of 12 tables in the function room. It muz be quite expensive.. cos my ex colleague is having his ROM wedding lunch @ Conrad Hotel, and I heard it's abt $100 per head and he'll be inviting 50 people i think..well...then again, it's value for money ba~

Some funny incidents happened- de groom haf a big difficulty in popping de champagne, think he spent several min before succeeding. De MC quite lousy..Dear fren keep complaining abt the MC loh..hahaha... And cos dear fren is pregnant, most of the food she haf 2nd helping~ haha... got to nOe one guy from the wedding. Very funny, think he is the groom's long-ago-friend. He told us that out of the blue one day, the groom juz called him and ask him if he is free to attend his wedding and juz like that, he agreed to come. The bad thing is that he does not nOe one single person @ the wedding except for the groom~~ hahaha...

Overall a good experience. Took a few photos wif dear fren. De lunch started at 1pm n ended at 3pm. After de lunch, went back khatib wif dear fren, as bf will fetch me to chalet from there.

I've red n angry bites all over..

All thanks to de wedding dinner i attended yesterday, at seletar reservoir..
Spent $8 on cab fare.. Cos it's like super inaccessible! As it was raining, de bf cant ride bike there. N onli buses fr yishun goes there.If take mrt, still muz walk for 15min fr khatib.

De wedding was ex pri ssch classmate's. An outdoor wedding at seletar reservoir.
De event was organised by her wedding planner. Random thoughts: If u eVEr think of engaging a wedding planner, pleas, get a professional or at least a full time/experienced one..

De wedding was supposed to start at 6pm but dragged on till 730pm before the solemnization actually started. They kept de justice of peace waiting, which ppl told me is quite irrespectful?

Me, bf & another pri sch fren was separated fr dear fren, far far away. Felt so outcast. De arrangement is so damN weird n inflexible. Since it's buffet style, why cant they allow free sitting? That planner even chased us away n insisted tat we sit at de allocated table. dulanz lo..

De food is so so.. Doesn't seem like 20 dishes n definitely not worth $68 (so said my dear fren) if u ask me. Originally, I was informed that no alchohol will be served @ the wedding. But I think after much suaning by dear fren, a few bottles of red wine were provided.

The tentages were set up one day in advance and cos of this and also the earlir rain, the tables n chairs are like dusty & dirty.. Hmmm..Guess someone never do her job~ Dear fren warned us to clean all de glasses n utensils before using..cos I think she found lots of dirts in hers~ geez.. Anyway de wedding lasted aBt 3hrs, including de one hour waiting time..

De whole thing ended ard 845 n after walking for 20 sweaty min, finally reached khatib mrt. Reached home feeling tired, dirty n smelly. Dear fren told me she haf diarrhea immediately upon reaching home.. Same goes for me n bf. N worse still, i gotten many insect bites all over me.. Itching till now..

Anyway, congrats to de bride n groom. May u leave happily ever after.

Sidenote:
Disappointed tat de bf nv acc me home. Dunno why he muz rush back home when it's onli 9pm. Very sian. He msg me at eleven plus last nite n tis morn. Dun wish to respond. He aCt as if nothing happened. I can so predict wat he'll say if i grumble aBt yesterday. No point..
